The Hunger Games

I recently went and seen The Hunger Games, a movie set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen (Played by Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match.
The movie takes a while to really get going and it is obviously geared towards teenagers where the book was more intense. I wish they would have spent a little more time on character development, in the end i was never really attached to any of them and the emotional scenes were pretty disappointing. It was an alright movie, definitely better ones out there but it wasn't the worst either, if you're all about plot and character development read the books, but if you don't care or hate reading watch the movie.

Leave a comment and tell me what you thought of the movie/book series!

  2. Got around to seeing it and I think it's better if you grade it like a movie than comparing it to a book it's based off of.

  4. I honestly think that the movie wasn't worth it's salt at all. I have this strong feeling that the entire production cast lost sight of what made the books so good. It was never about the emotionally insecure teenage protagonist. It was about the Horrors she is forced to see and do. The emphasis on those two things is what Suzanne Collins plays off of heavily for the last two books.
